ABOUT US
Hope Valley Cinema is an organisation, rather than a place for the time being, but who knows what the future holds.
We’re a small organisation of two film exhibition fans, called Matt and Ed. Matt is co-Director and founder of the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival, Ed runs a film research and innovation company called BoomBeam. Matt and Ed also run an organisations called Cycle to the Cinema, a similar film screening organisations, but one that encourages audiences members to get on their bikes and cycle to events.
Hope Valley Cinema is a broad reaching film exhibition organisation, that shows a broad range of films, from some of the adventure films that make the festival at ShAFF, to box office hits that entertain broader audiences.
Our main screening venue is currently Hope Valley Garden Centre, where we operate a walk, cycle or drive-in cinema in the months of the year that give us enough darkness to see them. But we’re set up to be able to screen films pretty much anywhere. We love showing films in adventurous and obscure locations, but do so with a sensitivity to that area.
We’ve got the kit to let us screen films silently, using radio frequency sound, ensuring we don’t disturb wildlife and/or neighbours. Inflatable screens or fixed frame screens. You can find out more about our private hire here.
If you’ve got a film idea that you’d like us to help with, simply get in touch and talk to us about it.
